Champagne Brunch

Since I went to bed shortly after our feast last night, I was up early doing some Yoga this morning and was very surprised to see a text message from Brooke at 7:50am that read: “Come out – champagne and birthday!” Intrigued, I popped in my contacts and walked over to the dining room. Turns out, it was Andy’s birthday today! Schaulf (the owner) decided it was appropriate to celebrate his birthday and safari send-off in style and popped open a bottle of champagne. What a fun way to start the day.

Andy and [can’t remember her name!] are a young couple from Britain, on holiday in Namibia for two weeks. [?] just finished up her medical degree from Liverpool University (funny – the people I went out with on Thursday were all from Liverpool), but she quickly told me that she grew up in Manchester, which is why her accent isn’t as “harsh” or “grating” as the people I met from Liverpool (her words, not mine but I agree). Andy, who is 25 as of today, is an architect originally from Birmingham. They’ve been together for four years and were both blond haired, blue-eyed, and adorable. They are coming back the 29th and Brooke and I made a tentative date with them for wine and picture viewing. We joked with them they brought the rain storm from the UK – poor Andy was so worried it would rain all week and ruin their camping safari! Fingers crossed they have good weather and a great trip.
